Don Cristobal Colon ( descendant of Christopher Colombus in direct line), better known as
 the Duke of Veragua

During this short period of time, the Duke of Veragua brought a very important, unfading and personal touch to the pure Spanish Arabian breeding. Passionated by the pure Arabian, he was constantly obsessed by improving constantly the genetic heritage of his horses; he was ready to wander through the whole world for it

In 1926, he imported from the Clark's Courthouse Arabian Stud (England) the stallions AJLUN , SHADRACK and the beautiful and impetuous RAZADA, sire of NANA SAHIB and KASHMIR

In 1929, he bought the stallion SIRIO III, , sire of SIRIO IV , born at the Marquis de  Domecq’s

Razada and Sirio III became the two fundation sires of his stud farm that was divided into two spots : the stallions and the foals of more than 2 years old were in the stabbles of his palace of San Mateo in Madrid, where as the mares and the younger foals were in his estate of Valjuanete (between Toledo and Aranjuez ) where they were joined together by the stallions during the breeding season

In 1927, he brought 4 mares from Argentina :

HAYADJAN HOLAIL II RADJEF RAFA
who were all descendants of Crabbett

In 1930, he bought 5 daughters of Skowronek to Lady Wenworth , Crabbet Park (England), one of the world most outstanding figure of the pure Arabian horse breeding. We can find these mares in many pedigrees
