Spanish Arabian Horse in France

The proximity of Spain favoured the development of the Spanish Arabian’s breeding in France, especially in the South, but it can currently be found in all parts of France, as for exemple in its West part. This page is not meant as an inventory of what exists in France, but as a overview of the stallions and mares  imported from Spain which left or are still leaving their mark on the Spanish Arabian’s breeding in France, and some if their descendants.
This selection is of course very subjective, favouring the horses with good physical  aptitudes for sport  and exceptionnal temper that they
transmit to their descendants, but I am not the only one to make this choice as shows the following extract
extract from the equestrian  journal “L’Eperon” in 1998

" The chief of the Spanish race for the  French CSO remainsNegus II , sire of Kalem which doesn’t need to be introduced any more, especially to the poney’s breeders, and the excellent stallions Iholdy, Azziz  , Hor Dago , Jokua ; Ramdane , great-father of  NaswanQatarBogdan de Nautiac.
Considering stallions transmiting their ability for jumping can be cited
JanoEsquirolDesigt de Pau,  Abha Leimon...  "

    ... and the conclusion

" You can always use a Spanish stallion good as a jumper
